72 Hour Kit in a Tennis Ball Can

By Liz in Salt Lake City, UT

It obviously can't hold a lot, but it could get you by in a pinch and is small enough to be carried in backpacks, cars, etc. Just rip off the label on the tennis ball container (you should be able to get lots of these from tennis clubs) print out the paper I've attached, and slip it inside, with the words facing out.  You might have some trouble finding some of the small medicine packages.  State Med in Salt Lake carries them but any place that carries supplies for first aid kits probably have them.

Food Items-Tea and bouillon are used for hot liquid nourishment and refreshment. tea is for an upset stomach. Food bars provide sustenance and energy.

Salt is to replace that which is lost through perspiration and to counter exhaustion. Candy is to sooth frazzled nerves.

Medical Supplies-For first aid treatment

Tennis Ball Container-In addition to being compact and easily carried, the watertight container also holds 25 fluid ounces, and will serve as a cup, water bottle or emergency canteen.

AT ALL TIMES, ONE SHOULD KEEP A FLASHLIGHT, FLARE, SCOUT KNIFE, COMPASS AND FIRE EXTINGUISHER WITH EMERGENCY SUPPLIES.
