Complete Online Curriculum Saved This Working
Homeschool Mom
by Lori Soard
|
"I'm going to have to send the kids back to public school," I sobbed to my
husband. I was juggling not only homeschooling the girls and keeping our house
together, but also was juggling a part-time writing career and teaching a class
at the local cottage school one day a week. We won't even go into all the
volunteer work I was doing at church.
Desperate to NOT send them back to a traditional school, I got online and
started researching solutions. If I could only find an affordable school that
had all the curriculum written for me and tracked things and that the kids would
enjoy, I'd be very happy. We had tried Switched on Schoolhouse, but the girls
quickly grew bored and tired of sitting in front of the computer and reading,
reading, reading. We tried textbooks, such as Saxon. We tried everything.
Although the cottage school was working well for us, we needed something in
particular for math.

That is when I stumbled upon Time4Learning. Although they are a full spectrum
(math, language arts, science, and social studies) curriculum provider, I was
really interested in the math program. After viewing their online demos, I
quickly saw that this was a fun, interactive program. Everything was planned for
me, the parent too. We started using Time4Learning and I immediately saw an
improvement in our homeschooling. Not only did I have more time because there
was less planning, but the girls enjoyed learning through the games and
interactive lessons. It was wonderful. Best of all, the site tracked the girls'
progress for me so I had a record of their work. I could also review what they'd
done and see where they needed work. I quickly realized they could repeat
lessons.

Next year, we will continue to use Time4Learning combined with work through a
local cottage school. My only wish is that they went through the high school
years, but maybe soon they'll add in trig and calculus and meet that need as
well. For anyone looking for a similar solution, I highly recommend
Time4Learning.com. It is only $19.95 a month. And there is a discount for
additional children. They even have a two week guarantee. Here is the link, if
you'd like to try it for yourself:

If you are like me and at the end of your rope, unsure how to continue
homeschooling, but you know it's what God has called you to do, then you may
want to look into this or other options. Don't give up. There is a solution.
