Teaching The Family Organization

Idea by: Nancy Clark

My daughter and I had just talked about clutter.  Evie has 4 children ranging age from 4-12, 2 boys, 2 girls, and both parents work outside of the home.  Stress is high every day and I want to help.

The plan is for me to come over and take time with each child, teaching them to help and to organize their rooms.

The problem areas are the bedrooms and family room not being clean and organize.  The rule has been if the area is not clean during the week, then they can have no time spent with us.

I plan go to their home and will spend time with each child, but doing a rotation.    One at a time, each will be taught to clean and organize, while the older ones are assisting to organize and clean routinely.  This project will take one month to finish.

After they have proven they can keep their rooms organized for one month, we will start the rewards.  The rewards are that the children spend time with us one day a week end.  We have scheduled a rotation with the oldest two.   We do crafts, fishing, picnics, zoo trips, and you get the idea.   I hope this will help Evie get herself organized.

(Remember what we see grown-ups doing the kids will pick up their bad habits.)
