Aromatherapy In Pregnancy

What to avoid- What you can use

What To Avoid:

Avoid the stimulating essential oils, especially during your first trimester.

You should also avoid these essential oils will nursing because they can stimulate uterine contractions.

These are the oils to steer clear of....

Rosemary
Thyme
Peppermint
Pennyroyal
Basil
Juniper
Oregano

The way the oils work is by entering your bloodstream through your skin. When you pregnant you want to use a little less. The normal usage for the oils is 5-10 drops for 1 ounce of carrier oil. When you are pregnant you should only use 5 drops per ounce of carrier oil. Since the essential oils are highly concentrated, you want to always mix them with a carrier oil. By not doing so, your skin can break out.

The essential oils that are ok to use during are pregnancy are as follows:

Rose
Lavender
Chamomile
Jasmine
Tangerine
Neroli
Ylang Ylang
