Shower Them with Love

By: Matthew Doyle

When a lawyer approached Jesus and asked "Master which is the great commandment in the law? The Lord answered "Thou shalt love the Lord they God with all thy heart, and with all they soul, and with all thy mind. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love they neighbor as thyself." Love is the key to true happiness.

Since this month is February, the "love month," we should try to focus our efforts on fulfilling these commandments by showing our love to our Savior and to our neighbors.

First for the husbands. Sometimes I wonder if we show enough love to our spouses, and mothers. Do we really understand all that they do to help keep our homes in order? Do we really understand all the effort and love that they shower upon our children? Do we really understand the self-sacrifice they offer as they help everyone else before themselves? Husbands, remember that your mothers and wives work very hard everyday to make life happier, whether they stay home and take care of the home and children or whether they work, everything they do, they do it to make life a happy one. Let us make a change if we do not appreciate the wonderful things these amazing women do in our lives! If it were not for the women that have made us who we are today, this world would cease to be. Let us shower them with love and appreciation for all that they do. Let us tell them how much we love them. These three simple words can do wonders, "I Love You!"

Now for the wives. We do love each one of you very much. We appreciate all the guidance and support you all give to your husbands and fathers. Wives, how often have you said to your husbands or fathers "I love you?" You might be surprised at how often they respond with a "I love you" because of the example you have shown. Remember that your fathers and husbands work long hours and sometimes have bad days. So remember that when they come home tired and irritable that they are not tired or irritable with you. Remember, those that are quick to love, are the ones that will always be loved.

This Valentine’s day may we all show our mothers, wives, husbands, and fathers how much we love them by expressing to them that we love and appreciate them. May this month be the start of a love that lasts each year and for eternity.
