Look Him Over Again

by: Nadja Bolio

There's a line from the song, SONG ENCHANTED EVENING that goes, "Once you have found her, never let her go."  I think it also can be sung, "Once you have found him, never let him go."
When I finally met THE RIGHT ONE in my life, I knew he was THE ONE because there was something about his charming quality that made me take notice.  He laughed easily and listened intently when I spoke.  He made me laugh and I liked the way I felt when I was with him.  With his sense of humor, I knew our life together would be a barrel of laughs.

Over the years we sometimes lose sight of that romantic feeling
and can take each other for granted.  The jokes can get corny with time and the aftershave no longer entices.  Things that seemed so appealing now aren't as humorous.  Arguments over silly things can push a marriage to the edge.  That is the time to look a husband over again.

Taking out the wedding album can bring back that giddiness of that special day.  But to me real love starts when I realize my choice of a mate knows all about me, my best and worst side and still wants to stick around.  There were days of sickness and pregnancy that I did not feel or look my best, but my husband's look of love made me fall in love with him again and again, reminding me of the wedding song, I CHERISH THE TREASURE OF YOU.
