Stain Removers From Our Readers

Removing Grease Stains

This was something that I found a while back and works like a charm!!  To get grease (vegetable oil, hamburger grease, bacon grease, etc) out of clothing, spray spot with WD-40 then apply a little Dawn dish liquid and rub.  Wash and dry as usual and spot is gone!!!

Homemade Stain Remover

In a spray bottle, mix one third liquid Wisk detergent (really does work better than other brands for this), one third rubbing alcohol, and one third water.  Save some pennies and have a happy laundry day!

Paint Stains

Rubbing Alcohol and a toothbrush will remove dried paint from clothing. (You can even use it to remove dried paint from your paint brushes.) Just dab it on the spot, let it soak a minute or two, and scrub until gone.   It may need to be repeated depending on the size of the stain.
