Powerful Stain Removers

By: Sandy Bee

This is guaranteed to take out 3 year old stains and it can sometimes work on 5 year old stains, but not guaranteed:

1 Cup Trisodium Phosphate (found in cascade dishwasher soap)
1/2 Cup of bleach
Soak in very HOT water for 20 minutes

This is for whites only-- Can soak longer

For colors:
1 Cup Trisodium Phosphate (cascade)
1/2 Baking Soda
Soak in very hot water for 20 minutes or longer

To get out stains you can repeat the above two recipes as needed.  Some materials the color may not be color fast and it could take out the color in spots.  So test where it doesn't show.  For smaller areas like men's collars, I mix it by tablespoons -- 1 Tablespoon to 1/2 Tablespoon ratio and use a toothbrush to scrub it on the collar.

I have seen this take out wine and coffee stains on very fine linens.
