I hated laundry. It
was a never ending job. Every week I had the same goal for my laundry, to get it
100% done. I had never reached that goal and I wondered why? I had done all the
steps. I had my ultimate goal for the week; to get the laundry 100% done. I had
my daily goals of doing three loads a day, folding the loads (except the white,
too many socks) as they come out of the dryer, and to have the kids put the own
clothes away. I was worked hard to reach these daily goals and did reach them.
But, I was not able reach that ultimate goal.
Why, can’t I ever
get my laundry 100% done? Then it hits me! The only way to get the laundry 100 %
done is to sleep naked on a mattress without sheets, and that is not going to
happen!! The point is this, I am always going to have dirty cloths because my
family is always wearing clothes, sleeps on bed with sheets and blankets, and
use towels. I had set an unreachable goal for myself. The ultimate goal of
getting my laundry 100% was impossible to reach. I needed to set an ultimate
goal that was reachable.

My new ultimate
weekly laundry goal is to stay caught up on my laundry. The same daily goals
will work with that and it is something I can achieve. Not only am I reaching
the goals I have set for myself because I have set goals that are achievable,
but I also like doing laundry. It still is a never ending job, but now I see the
bottom of the pile.
