Juice Lids

by: Shiloah Baker
With additions from our readers

If you drink juice or get WIC. Save all your metal juice lids from the frozen juice.

Memory Game

Cut out pictures (2 of each-must be the same) glue them to the top of a lid, and cover with clear contact paper- and make a memory game from it!
You can do some with just colors, the abc's and so forth.

Tin Punch Ornaments

Find some designs that are small enough to put on the frozen juice lids. They can be for any season. If you want Easter do bunnies, and so forth. Place the paper of the design on the face of the lid. Get a large nail and a hammer and punch dots on the outline of the pattern you are doing. Trim with lace and add a ribbon to hang on the tree.

Picture Ornaments

Find whatever pictures of your children that would like to put on the ornament. Cut them so that they will fit inside the rim. Glue it in place. Trim with ribbon and add a ribbon to hang on the tree.
These are great for relatives and grandparents!

Plant Markers

Another good idea to use juice can lids. They make excellent markers in the garden. Take some old wire coat hangers, can get them from thrift shops. Cut the coat hanger so that it makes a straight stake, but keep the hook part and bend it so that the whole thing looks like a shepard's crook. Punch a hole in the juice can lid. Write the name of your herb or plant on the lid with either a grease pencil, or permanent marker. Hang from the coat hanger wire and voila, a long lasting marker for the garden. All of it free.
