Find four or five pairs of different types of
leaves. Mix them up and set them on the table. Let your child find the
matching leaf pairs.
Leaf Matching
Find five large leaves in good condition. Trace
around each leaf on a separate sheet of paper. Give your child the leaves and
the papers and have him or her try to match the real leaf to the leaf tracing.
Leaf Pictures
Have your child gather 3-4 leaves. Take a plane,
white sheet of paper and put the leave underneath it. Have the child color on
the paper over the leaf, making a "leaf" from the imprint. Have them use fall
colors.
Leaf Guessing Game
Put a workable number of leaves into a see-through
container. Ask your child to guess how many leaves are in the container.
Take out the leaves and count them together. Try it again with a different
number of leaves.

Sorting Leaves
Place a small pile of leaves on a table or on the
floor. Help your child sort the leaves by shape, size, or color.
Sing The Leaves Song:
Sung to: Row, row, row Your Boat
Leaves, leaves, falling down,
Falling to the ground.
Red and yellow,
Orange and brown,
Leaves are falling down
