by: Shiloah BakerPrepare Ahead:
- Flannel board
- Pictures of people in white
robes- cut out
- Picture of Christ- cut out
- Picture of the earth- cut
out
- Interfacing (for sewing)
Lightly glue small patches of the interfacing on the
backs of the pictures.
Tell the story of how before we came here to earth. Use
the flannel board and pictures as you tell the story.
Your child(ren) may want to help.
Heavenly Father called a council. Explain that a council
is a meeting.
Tell them that we were there. Point to each person and
say, "mommy was there, daddy, etc"
Tell them that Heavenly Father said that he was going to
send us away for a little while- here to earth. He needed
to send someone to earth to show us the way and to die
for us.
Jesus came forward and said, "Father, send me and
the glory be Thine." Explain what glory is.
There was another who sought for the honor. Explain that
this was lucifer or the devil. He wanted to make everyone
do Heavenly Father's plan and he wanted the glory.
Heavenly Father said that He would send the first one. (Jesus)
Lucifer was very angry about this and he started a war in
Heaven. Explain that it wasn't a war with weapons, but a
war where people where arguing with one another about
who's side to choose.
Heavenly Father cast out everyone who didn't want to
follow His plan. Explain that "cast out" means
to make them leave.
Tell them that we chose to follow Heavenly Father's plan.
We know this because we were born here on earth. Now we
must continue to choose Heavenly Father's plan in order
to live with Him again.
Ask them if they want to live with Him and you forever.
Tell them some of the ways they can.
Sing the song, "I Lived In Heaven" in the
Primary Children's Songbook page #4.
