Planning A Family Reunion

by: Shiloah Baker

*Read up on Family Reunions

*Start sending out letters and ask for suggestions at least a year in advance

*Make your "guest" list. How far into the family tree are you going to invite?

*Get as many people to help as possible. Don't be afraid to delegate.

*Keep detailed notes, perhaps a notebook- of your plans and things to do

*Set the date early and stick with it. You could plan it around a holiday so most people will have off.

*Decide on a budget and how you will pay for it. You can have fund raisers, etc.

*Where should you have it? Take into account the family size, everyone's ages

*How long should it be? You can have it be a day, a weekend, a whole week!

*Send out the invitation well in advance and give as many details as you can. Not only will this help your relatives plan, but it also will save you from dozens of phone calls.
