The Family Corner

The Family Corner

Raising a family is one of the most important privileges a homemaker can acquire.  The Homemaking Cottage features articles that teach, assist, and inspire parents in their lives as they bring up a family.  My favorite quote regarding families is:

"No nation can rise above its homes. The church, the school, and even the nation, stand helpless before a weakened and degraded home, in building character. The good home is the rock foundation- the cornerstone of civilization. If this, our nation, is to endure, the home must be safeguarded, strengthened, and restored to its rightful importance."

(Ezra Taft Benson)

Chores For Children (NEW)

“But whatever the era, whatever the times, one thing will never change: Fathers and mothers, if you have children, they must come first. You must read to your children and you must hug your children and you must love your children. Your success as a family, our success as a society, depends not on what happens in the White House but on what happens inside your house.”

(Washington Post, 2 June 1990, p. 2.)

For The Love of Chores

It is sometimes a “chore” to get your children to do their chores! If you're one who is looking for a different way to get them to make those beds and so forth maybe this technique will work for you.  I never really thought about trying to get my children to love...more
