How to sweep and mop the floors

 Sweeping

Step 1: Get your broom and dust pan.

Step 2: Start from the inner wall and work out towards the center of the room.  Move the furniture in your path.  Sweep well using short strokes.

Step 3: Sweep all the dirt into a pile and then sweep it into the dustpan.  You may use several trips filling the dustpan.

Mopping:

Step 1: Put a small amount of cleaner into your mop bucket.  Dish soap is NOT recommended.  Use pine sol, ammonia or vinegar mixed with warm water.  Do not use them all together!  (Dangerous chemical reactions can occur causing blindness or worse.)

Step 2: The best mop to use is a string mop.  They get the dirt better.  Dunk your mop into the water and twist the strings tightly in your hand, while holding the mop over the bucket.  Ring well.

Step 3: Start from the inner wall- furthest from the door or center of the room.  Mop using short, slow strokes.  Scrub the areas where the dirt sticks a little.

Step 4: Rinse your mop in your mop several times during your mopping.  This will ensure that you do not spread the dirt around and that you get the cleanest floor possible!

Step 5: Allow the floor to completely dry before walking on it, putting furniture back or putting any little rugs on it.

Step 6: Rinse your mop bucket and mop out well in the bathtub.  Put them away for next use!
