High Chair Cleaning Basics

By Shiloah Baker

High Chairs have a tendency to get really grimy and messy with our little one eating so sweetly! Here is my favorite way to thoroughly clean the high chair.  I try to do this once a week.

Take the high chair outside to the water hose.  Get a scrub brush and soapy mop bucket.  Spray the chair down the best you can.  Take the scrub brush and scrub it good.

Don't forget to take off the chair pad and spray underneath.  If it is not removable, lift it up as much as possible and spray underneath as well as you can.  Take a soapy washcloth and wipe it well underneath the mat.  You'd be surprised at how much stuff accumulates under there even cleaning it often!

Take the scrub brush and washcloth and scrub down the legs of the chair, the back and the front.  Rinse well.

Let it dry in the sunlight and help to kill odors and bacteria that are left.  After an hour, wipe down with a clean cotton cloth and bring back inside.

Tips From Our Readers

When necessary I take my highchair to the local car wash and use the pressure washer!   Its works very well and the water is nice and hot to get rid of that dirt in all of the little tight spots.   Very quick too!
